The client operates multiple high-throughput SMT (Surface Mount Technology) production lines assembling PCBs and flat electronic modules for consumer and industrial applications. Their production environment demanded a handling system that could:

•        Provide continuous ESD protection during in-process transfers between workstations (pick-and-place, reflow, AOI, ICT)

•        Prevent surface scratches and mechanical stress on bare PCBs and display panels during handling

•        Support high-density vertical stacking in buffer storage and WIP staging areas

•        Integrate seamlessly with European standard logistics (600×400mm euro-module, pallet-compatible)

02 The Solution

After evaluating multiple ESD packaging suppliers, the client selected Yufa Polymer’s ESD PP Tray (product page) paired with a custom-cut 3mm ESD EVA foam liner (product page) as their standard production-line handling system.

Dual-Layer ESD Protection

The rigid PP tray (surface resistivity 10⁵–10⁹ Ω) provides structural ESD shielding, while the EVA foam liner (10⁵–10⁹ Ω) eliminates triboelectric charging at the component-surface interface.

Precision Fit & Euro-Pallet Compatibility

600×450mm footprint maps directly to European 1200×800mm pallet standards (2×2 layout per layer). The 40mm tray height enables 20+ trays per stack within standard rack heights.

Cushioned Component Surface

3mm closed-cell EVA foam absorbs vibration, prevents solder joint micro-cracking, and provides a scratch-free resting surface for bare PCBs and display panels.

Extreme Durability

Injection-molded PP construction resists cracking, warping, and chemical exposure. EVA foam’s <15% compression set ensures long-term cushioning performance across thousands of production cycles.
